HTM - Matilda's Tudor Bed + Room Tour

This was a fun project. Quite easy in fact. All it required was cutting a lot of rectangles out of cardboard.

After cutting the pieces and arranging them I used craft glue to set them in place and ran a bead of hot glue around the edges.

Followed by a coat of brown paint and glossy Mod Podge.

I trimmed the raw edges of the cardboard in brown craft foam.

I found rich looking velvet in burgundy for the bedspread, and finished off the edge in a detailed trim.

I made pillows using a gorgeous brocade then added gold tassel corners.

Matilda shares the long room with other maids her age. If you want to make a Tudor bed and room for your Matilda or Princess doll, here are some ideas.

Matilda smuggles secrets within the castle for Katherine Howard.

    1. Thank you. No need to have room envy - it's a simple project and I know you can make this in an afternoon.

  6. What an amazing work of art! And cardboard no less! I would actually like to use the design and make out of wood. I really loved the little video you did with all this. You are an inspiration!

  7. Rhonda, This room that you made for Matilda is really extraordinary. Is the other piece of furniture a 2nd bed? And the 'tapestry' a fabric swatch? Can I ask where you found your chalices? Just love the details - so fun ^_^!

    1. Thanks!! There is a home made table, her Tudor bed and a large wooden chair. However the chair is so large I had to take it out. My mom had the tapestry swatch fabric and it's 12x12". The chalices are from Dollar tree.
