Ice Cream Parlor - Victorian/Edwardian (Part Four)

Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour opened for business on Friday the 13th of September, 1963. The first parlour was located at 21st and W. Burnside in Portland, Oregon. Bob Farrell and Ken McCarthy were the founders and proprietors of this unique parlour restaurant. "When we opened our first store, we had 32 employees, $1,300 in the bank and owed $26,000," remarks Ken about that first day. -Farrells

This is near and dear to my heart. Farrell's had a location in my home town in the mall. We would eat there regularly, we had many parties there as well.

This is my location in the 1980s.

Our restaurant closed down.

The last parlours closed around 1992. After that, only the franchises in San Diego, CA and Eugene, OR still operated.  Beginning 2008 Farrell's has re-opened locations with currently eight in S. CA. and one in Hawaii. - Farrells'

    1. It's still uncertain about the rumor. If there is something new it would be before Black Friday. My guess is not. Sometime these rumors are just that - rumors.

  3. The photo of the location you went to back in the 1980's...is that the one that was located at the Columbia Center Mall in Kennewick, WA? It looks like the entrance to that one I visited in the early-mid 80's before it closed.
