DOWNSIZED (Part Two)

I have finally downsized my collection. It wasn't easy. I had to really think about what to let go. It may sound silly, but I asked myself If the house were on fire or if there was an emergency, what would I grab with me out of the house? This helped me see what was important within my collection and what I could live without. Or better put what I could accept living without.

Understand I had to do this swiftly so I wouldn't have time to change my mind or lose my nerve. Extreme yes, but it worked for me.

Here's a final look at the dolls who have found other homes.

I have decided to maintain a historical collection. (Except for my beloved Saige) I am now down to 17 dolls, a nice sized collection. All of my current AG dolls are represented in the header above. In addition to these I have four Heidi Ott Faithful Friends dolls - Hannah (brunette with dimples), Ellie (AA), Beth (Blond) who I renamed Astrid and Maggie (red hair).

You may notice the Bitty Twins in the header. They were made into full size 18" dolls by my dear friends KKollect. Bitty Twin heads on AG bodies. I have simply added them to the Faithful Friends story.

When the 18" dolls went, so did the clothing. I was able to sell everything within 10 days. That was nice. I feel better about my collection because it now includes only the dolls near and dear to my heart. Historical dolls Kirsten, Samantha and Molly are what originally drew me to AG and I have always loved the historical aspect with the clothing and books.

I am currently rearranging and organizing the office / doll / spare bedroom. As you see it has a lot of uses. I'm hoping to make it work better.

Thank you for your support and encouragement during this process.

  5. I'm glad you kept Saige. She is truly a beautiful doll and it would break my heart to see anyone return her/resale her. Because of this you are now the only person I know who has all three of my dolls also, Kit, Ruthie, and Saige. Well, you and Char from Doll Diaries.
